The papers of Hazelton Rice (1788-1870) consist of letters, diaries, account books, and receipts which reflect the personal lives of Mr. Rice, a Somerset, Vermont, farmer who sold stoves and other castings, and his family. They also include public papers from Mr. Rice's tenure as selectman and justice of the peace in Somerset. The collection includes a few miscellaneous papers of Daniel Rice (1755-1831), father of Hazelton.
